WP-Flash Guide

How to use WP-Flash, step by step

From installing the app to a live website — and how to improve sites that already exist. About 15 minutes to set up, no Terminal.

What WP-Flash is

WP-Flash is a desktop app for Mac and Windows that builds complete WordPress websites with AI. You chat with Flash, the agent inside the app. It researches the business, designs the homepage around the business's real photos, plans 40–300 pages for search, writes and publishes them, checks everything and fixes local SEO. You stay in control: every stage waits for your click before it moves on.

It builds for Elementor, Kadence, Avada, the WordPress block editor (Gutenberg) or its own custom theme, and it can also build Shopify stores and static sites. The pages stay editable in the builder your client already knows.

What you need

MacWindows
ComputermacOS 12 (Monterey) or newer, Apple Silicon or IntelWindows 10 or 11, 64-bit
AI planYour own Claude Pro or Max plan (claude.ai)
BrowserGoogle Chrome (or Edge / Brave) — used for screenshots and design checksNothing extra — Edge is built in
LicenseYour WP-Flash license key

WP-Flash installs Claude Code, Python and Git for you with one button each. Node.js and a local WordPress sandbox are already inside the app.

Install on Mac

  1. Pick the right file: arm64 for Apple Silicon (M1–M4 and newer), x64 for Intel. Not sure? Apple menu → About This Mac: "Chip: Apple M…" means Apple Silicon.
  2. Open the .dmg and drag WP-Flash into Applications.
  3. Double-click WP-Flash in Applications. macOS says it "could not verify" the app — click Done (not Move to Trash).
  4. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down to "WP-Flash was blocked", click Open Anyway, enter your Mac password and click Open Anyway again.

This only happens the first time. macOS asks because WP-Flash is new and not from the App Store. On macOS 14 or older you can also right-click the app → Open → Open.

Install on Windows

  1. Double-click WP-Flash-Setup-…-windows-x64.exe.
  2. If "Windows protected your PC" appears, click More info → Run anyway. It appears because the app is new.
  3. Follow the installer: Next → Install → Finish. WP-Flash opens by itself and adds Desktop and Start Menu shortcuts.

Activate & set up

  1. Activate: paste the license key you received and click Activate. One key works on up to three computers.
  2. Setup card: Home shows "Set up WP-Flash on this Mac/PC". Click each button:
    • Install Claude Code — about one minute.
    • Sign in to Claude — your browser opens Claude; sign in and click Authorize.
    • Python tools (Mac) — Apple's installer opens; click Install and wait about five minutes. Git and Python (Windows) — installed for you; click Yes if Windows asks.
  3. When all three show a green tick, you're ready.

Your first build

  1. Click New project (WordPress or Shopify) and give it the business name.
  2. Tell Flash the business and city, e.g. "Build a site for Miles Car Rental in Miami". Use the start cards or type / to see every command.
  3. Answer the click-questions (quick-reply buttons appear when Flash needs you): the services, the feeling the site should give, the look it wants and the look it must never have.
  4. Flash pulls the real photos, logo, reviews and prices from the Google profile, Facebook, Instagram and the website.
  5. You pick a design (next section), Flash plans the pages, builds the theme or sets up the builder, writes the homepage first, then one master page per type, then the rest.
  6. QA and local SEO run at the end. The preview on the right updates as pages go live.

Tip: type stop any time — progress is saved. Next time click the history button or type resume and Flash continues where it left off.

The design board

WP-Flash makes three really different homepage designs, each built around the business's own logo and photos.

  • Pick a design: each card shows its palette and fonts. Click the one you like.
  • Approve design: the picked design is cut into sections and each one is shown in HD. Write a note under any section ("bigger phone number", "use the red van photo") and click Send changes — only those sections are redone. Choose the fonts, then click Approved, start building.
  • Design vs. build: after the homepage is built, each section is scored against the approved design. Anything under the bar is fixed before the rest of the site is written.

AI-rendered designs need an OpenAI or Gemini API key (Connectors) or a ChatGPT sign-in. Without one, WP-Flash makes the designs in HTML — the build never stops.

Build on your computer (no hosting)

Don't have the client's hosting yet? Choose Build on this Mac/PC. WP-Flash runs a real WordPress site inside the app, builds everything there and shows it in the preview. Show it to the client from your screen — or share a temporary preview link — before anything goes live.

Go live

  1. In the client's WordPress: Users → Profile → Application Passwords, type "WP-Flash", click Add New Application Password and copy it.
  2. In WP-Flash: Connectors → WordPress, enter the site URL, the username and that password.
  3. Tell Flash "go live". It publishes the approved build to the live site, keeps the old URLs with 301 redirects when it replaces an old site, and runs the final checks.

Prefer a static site? WP-Flash can export the whole site for Netlify, Cloudflare Pages or any cPanel hosting.

For Elementor, Kadence and Avada sites WP-Flash asks you to upload one small helper file (wpflash-bridge.php) to wp-content/mu-plugins/ once. It lets WP-Flash save builder layouts and SEO fields safely.

Improve an existing site

Type /wpflash-improve and the site's address. WP-Flash measures every page on a phone and a laptop, shows you a plan, and only changes things after you say yes:

  • phone layout — sideways scrolling, text touching the screen edge;
  • uneven or cramped section spacing, small text, low contrast, small buttons;
  • thin pages — real copy added in the page's own builder, facts only;
  • broken images, missing alt text, extra H1 headings.

It takes a save point first, re-measures every page afterwards and undoes any page that got worse. Brand colours, fonts, logo, menus and section order are never changed.

Useful commands

Connectors (optional)

Connectors add powers but are never required. If one isn't connected, WP-Flash skips that step with one line and keeps building.

  • Images: OpenAI or Gemini API key for AI designs and photos.
  • Research: Ahrefs, DataForSEO, Google Search Console + GA4, Google Places.
  • Go live: WordPress, Netlify, Cloudflare Pages, cPanel, Shopify.
  • Grow: Stripe payment links, Slack / WhatsApp lead alerts, email sending.

Keys are stored only on your computer.

Updating

Mac: download the new .dmg and drag WP-Flash into Applications → Replace. Windows: run the new Setup .exe. Your projects, sites, memory and keys stay — they live in your home folder, not inside the app.

Troubleshooting

"WP-Flash could not be verified" (Mac)

Click Done, then System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway. See Install on Mac.

"Windows protected your PC"

Click More info → Run anyway.

"License key not found" or "Device limit reached"

Check the key for typos. A key works on three computers — message us and we'll free a slot for your new computer.

Sign in to Claude doesn't finish

Make sure you are signed in to claude.ai in your default browser with a Pro or Max plan, then click Sign in again.

The preview on the right is empty

Connect a WordPress site in Connectors, or ask Flash to build on your computer — the preview shows the site being built.
